Student Representative Roles & Responsibilities

This page outlines the basic expectations for the Student Representative role during the 2026–2027 school year.

Overview

Student Representatives bring a student voice to the ongoing work of the Roosevelt High School Alumni Association (RHSAA). They help the organization stay connected to current school life by sharing updates, participating in board discussions, and identifying opportunities where alumni support can make a difference.

Each Student Representative serves a one-year term from July 1st through June 30th, aligned with the RHSAA’s fiscal year.

Board Meeting Participation

Student Representatives are expected to attend and remain for the duration of the three RHSAA Board of Directors meetings held during the school year:
  • September 17th, 2026
  • January 21st, 2027
  • May 20th, 2027
All meetings are scheduled from 6:00–8:00pm in the Roosevelt High School Library.

An agenda item will be allocated at each meeting for a Student Representative report (5–10 minutes). This is an opportunity to share updates from the student body, including recent accomplishments, upcoming events, or other notable topics.

In addition to giving their report, Student Representatives are welcome to participate in discussion throughout the meeting as the board conducts regular business. Their insight is valued and encouraged during all agenda items.

If a Student Representative is unable to attend a scheduled meeting, they must contact the Executive Committee in advance to discuss alternative arrangements.

Monthly Event Submissions

By the 1st of each month, Student Representatives will submit at least one upcoming event, project, or opportunity for alumni involvement. Submissions must be emailed to the RHSAA Executive Committee at executive@rooseveltalumni.org.

Examples include:
  • Performances, games, or events open to alumni
  • Fundraisers or donation drives
  • Volunteer opportunities
  • Club or class projects seeking support or recognition

Each submission should include:
  • Name of the event or activity
  • Date, time, and location (if applicable)
  • Brief description (at least 1–2 sentences about what it is)
  • Any relevant links or flyers/graphics
  • Whether alumni are invited to attend, donate, or share

This monthly requirement begins in September 2026 and ends with a final submission in June 2027. These submissions will be shared with the broader alumni network via newsletter or social media.

Communication and Point of Contact

All communication to and from Student Representatives will be handled through the RHSAA Executive Committee. Representative contact information will not be shared with the full board.

Outside of board meetings, communication will take place by email only.

Megan Hall, a member of the Executive Committee, will serve as the primary point of contact. She will communicate through executive@rooseveltalumni.org, which is visible to the full Executive Committee. Representatives may also contact her directly at megan@rooseveltalumni.org with individual questions or concerns.

Academic and Conduct Expectations

Student Representatives must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and remain in good standing with Roosevelt High School. Any disciplinary action or academic ineligibility may result in removal from the role at the discretion of the RHSAA Executive Committee.
