Grant Recipients

One aspect of our mission as the Roosevelt High School Alumni Association is to support the students and staff of Roosevelt High School. Part of how we do that is by providing grants towards projects that students are passionate about.

Below are the grants awarded by the RHSAA, organized by fiscal year. Each grant includes the amount, purpose, and photos.

Dance Team

Supported the Dance Team’s fall competition season with entrance fees and transportation costs.

Student Council

Helped Student Council attend a statewide leadership conference by covering food costs for the weekend trip.

Theatre Troupe

Helped the Theatre Troupe reach their fundraising goal, supporting 20+ students attending the International Thespian Festival.

Yearbook

Helped close the Yearbook’s budget gap, ensuring students could publish despite rising printing costs.

Senior Awards Ceremony

Funded the Counseling Department’s cake and decorations for the Senior Awards Ceremony, celebrating the Class of 2025.

Tennis Teams

Provided new balls for both Tennis Teams and donated high-end rackets to the Girls Team.

Girls Golf Team

Outfitted the Girls Golf Team with new polos and skirts after the team quadrupled in size.

Student Study Abroad

Covered final costs for junior Jasmin Reyes-Contreras to study abroad in Morocco after extensive fundraising.

Baseball Equipment

Funded new helmets and donated buckets of balls for the Baseball Team, thanks to alumni supporters.

Muslim Student Association

Backed the Muslim Student Association’s participation in a joint Ramadan celebration with other local high schools.

Miss Black Teen

Assisted Heleen RedBird with travel expenses to represent Oregon at the national Miss Black Teen pageant.

Social Work Team

Provided the Social Work Team with emergency funds to assist families in crisis and keep students attending school.

Jazz Band

Funded the Jazz Band’s startup costs for the year through a dedicated alumni donation.

Student Council

Assisted Student Council’s spirit week, covering costs that included t-shirts for the entire student body.

Dance Team

Contributed to the Dance Team’s effort to hire a special choreographer for competitions.

Boys Basketball Tournaments

Rallied community donations to help cover travel and food for the Boys Basketball Team’s tournament in California.

Track Team Nationals

Covered registration fees so eight Track athletes could compete at Nationals under the Roosevelt name.

Unity Fest

Contributed to Unity Fest, the student-run multicultural festival, by covering a last-minute performance cost.

Gift Card Drive

Collected gift cards for the holiday drive supporting families in need during December.

Girls Wrestling

Provided funds for warm-ups and bags as the new Girls Wrestling team formed, now an official sport in Oregon.

Choir

Helped the Choir purchase essentials including sheet music and t-shirts used as uniforms.

Teachers

Used community donations to provide donuts and coffee for striking teachers, many of them Roosevelt alumni.

All American Cheerleader

Assisted Isabela Manuel-Juan’s fundraising to represent Roosevelt in Hawaii as part of the national program.

Student Resource Closets

Awarded $1,000 and donated snacks and undergarments to the Student Resource Closets for students in need.

Speech and Debate

Covered fall expenses for Speech and Debate, a team founded on the principle that cost should never be a barrier.

Student Council

Theatre
