Picnic Volunteer Coordinator

Time commitment of 3-6 hours/month, April through July.


Participation will be a hybrid of virtual and in-person, planning and coordination primarily take place over email, and attendance at the All-Class Picnic in July.


We are seeking 1 volunteer for this role.


Volunteers should be comfortable communicating over email and familiar with social media.

The All-Class Picnic brings alumni together in a casual afternoon in the park to reconnect with former classmates and meet others from across generations. Volunteer coordination in the lead-up to the event helps keep plans clear and expectations shared, so the day itself stays organized and low-stress. An organized volunteer structure allows people who pitch in to still take part in the picnic and enjoy the time together.

Duties & Responsibilities


- Work with the Picnic Committee to identify volunteer needs and define duties for the All-Class Picnic.
- Coordinate recruitment of picnic volunteers, both directly and in collaboration with the Communications Committee.
- Serve as the main point of contact for picnic volunteers in the lead-up to the event, sharing plans, expectations, and updates as details are finalized.
- On the day of the All-Class Picnic, support volunteer check-in, helping ensure volunteers know where to go and who to connect with.
- Participate in Picnic Committee planning conversations beginning in early spring, primarily via email and monthly in-person meetings starting in April.
Collaborate with the Picnic Committee at large to identify volunteer needs and planning updates. Coordinate with the Communications Committee to help share volunteer needs and direct interested volunteers to the appropriate point of contact.
